Cognigy review
★ 4.4/5Enterprise conversational & voice AI agent platform
Cognigy (now NiCE Cognigy after NiCE's 2025 acquisition) is an enterprise-grade agentic AI platform for customer service, combining a visual low-code AI Agent Studio, a built-in Voice Gateway for AI phone agents, and Knowledge AI (RAG). It is sold contract-only to large contact centers and is deeply integrated with major CCaaS stacks (NiCE CXone, Genesys, Amazon Connect, Avaya, Microsoft, 8x8). Pricing is usage-based under the hood (billable conversations, concurrent voice lines, knowledge queries) but always wrapped in a custom annual enterprise contract.

Best for enterprise CX automation. Cognigy starts Custom (contact sales) on a Custom annual enterprise contract; usage-based units (billable conversations + concurrent voice lines + knowledge queries/chunks) model. There is no public price card. Per Vendr's buyer data, Cognigy deals are six-figure annual contracts averaging about $115,000/year, with deals commonly starting above $300K/year. Billing is usage-based: a "billable conversation" covers up to 50 end-user inputs within 24 hours (every additional 50 inputs or each new 24-hour window starts another billable conversation), voice is billed on peak concurrent lines per day, and Knowledge AI is billed per knowledge query plus a hard cap on ingested knowledge chunks. So a mid-size deployment doing, say, 250,000 billable conversations a year plus voice and Knowledge AI add-ons lands roughly in that ~$100K-$300K/year band depending on channel mix and overages.
Spec
The gotcha
"Billable conversations" are counted by end-user inputs, not sessions: one chat that exceeds 50 user messages (or runs past 24 hours) silently rolls into a second, third, etc. billable conversation, and voice (peak concurrent lines/day), Knowledge AI queries and knowledge chunks are all metered and overage-charged separately on top of the base contract.
